You don’t need to wait for Valentine’s Day or a birthday to plan something special for your loved one. South Orlando is full of life, and there are things to do year-round! Here are some out-of-the-box and creative date night ideas you can do right here in South Orlando.
The 2018 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
Starting on Aug. 30, the annual festival returns to Walt Disney World Resort for 75 days of entertainment, fun events, and, of course, an array of delicious food and tasty beverages bigger than you can imagine. The 2018 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is a great opportunity to enjoy the best recipes of award-winning chefs from around the world, surrounded by the magic of Walt Disney World.
All Kinds of Fun in Dr. Phillips
Located just a short drive from your home at Alta Grande, Dr. Phillips is quickly becoming one of the most popular areas of Orlando. Dr. Phillips offers plenty of entertainment options for you and your loved one. Rent a swan boat and choose one of the many lakes of the area – like Lake Cherokee Park, Lake Davis, or Lake Eola – to enjoy an easy paddle. Pack a picnic of nice wine, brie and crackers, and fruit and have a beautiful dinner in nature, or skip the lake and the picnic and go to a fancy restaurant such as Boheme or Kres Chophouse. Then head to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and watch one of the events coming up this month, including The Jazz Orchestra.
Tapa Toro Monthly Class
Create an exceptional meal yourself at En la cocina by Tapa Toro, the cooking classes offered by the vibrant Spanish restaurant on International Drive. Let the talented chefs guide you in recreating some of their famous recipes and enjoy an evening cooking and eating around the paella pit. There’s limited seating so hurry and sign up – this opportunity is one that you can’t pass on.
Moonlight Walk at Greenwood Cemetery
If your significant other appreciates spooky movies, why not try something a little different instead of watching Netflix at home yet again. And by different… we mean really different. We saved the most unusual for last: a moonlight walk through the historic Greenwood Cemetery. With more than 100 acres of spookiness, graves, and history, this guided tour is a fun and odd idea for a date night. The tour is free, but some nights are sponsored by different charities that will be accepting donations.
