Brunch Spots You Need to Try This Weekend

|

Orlando has no shortage of brunch spots, especially in the hotels and resorts surrounding Disney World. But when we say these are the brunch spots you need to try this weekend, we’re not talking about the everyday, run-of-the-mill mimosas and pancakes. Oh no, we want the absolute best brunches, with unique offerings and a killer atmosphere, all less than a 30-minute drive from your home at Alta Grande. So when you’re ready to branch out for brunch, give these spots a go.

@ The Diner

Lake Cay Place, Commons, 9938 Universal Blvd.

For those weekend mornings when you crave comfort and consistency, hit up @ The Diner off Universal Boulevard. Carb lovers have their pick of dozens of pancake, waffle, and French toast options, including chocolate chip, “Florida Style,” and Nutella-topped creations. Their signature Enzo’s Cereal Panc@kes combine the best of two breakfasts into one – pancakes topped with Fruity Pebbles, Lucky Charms, or Cinnamon Toast Crunch. A stack of those and a hot coffee will go a long way toward curing any lingering hangover.

Tapa Toro

8441 International Drive

For a classic brunch with a twist, head to Tapa Toro. Known for its paella and flamenco dancers, this place serves up a delicious weekend menu, with unlimited mimosas and sangrias to boot. Try the Chicken Fried Steak, served over cheddar polenta, or the Huevos Flamenco, with red lentils, fennel sausage, and herbed yogurt. If you want a little sweet with your savory, go for the Chicken & Pancakes – fried chicken paired with vanilla pancakes and a house honey glaze.

Fortuna Bakery & Cafe

12701 S John Young Parkway

Some weekends, you’re just too busy to have a full sit-down meal. That’s where Fortuna Bakery Cafe comes in. Hailed by some as one of the best bakeries in Orlando, this Colombian spot is the perfect place to pick up a few items and head out for your day. Beyond their gorgeous cakes and desserts, they offer grab-and-go pastries, savory empanadas and pies, and fresh juices, all reasonably priced. With your pick of treats and a hot coffee, you’re ready to take on your weekend.

The Boheme

325 S Orange Ave.

If you’re looking for an elevated brunch experience – more “pinkies up” than bottomless mimosas – then The Boheme is the place. Located inside the Grand Bohemian Hotel in downtown Orlando, The Boheme offers a brunch buffet only on Sundays, so plan accordingly. While you eat, you’ll be serenaded by the sweet sounds of jazz piano. The Boheme is the spot to take out-of-town guests you want to impress or as the perfect way to kick off a day in downtown Orlando.

The Waterfront

4201 S Orange Ave.

For brunch with a view, you can’t get better than The Waterfront. Perched on the edge of the gorgeous Lake Jennie Jewel, this hidden gem serves what they refer to as “pure food indulgence.” If you have time for a nap later, try their Brunch Poutine – a Canadian-inspired dish of french fries, sausage gravy, white cheddar, and a fried egg. In lighter fare, they offer Crab Benedict and the now-classic Avocado Toast. Best of all, The Waterfront welcomes pets to its spacious patio, so you can bring your pup along, too!
